PROJECT EXAMPLE

INTERIM MANAGEMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

The project in brief:

  • Bridging the vacancy in HR management with operational tasks
  • Ensuring the monthly payroll processing
  • Conducting monthly reporting to the group company
  • Day-to-day operations including annual salary adjustments and bonus payments

Project timeline:

The long-serving HR manager had resigned after many years of service in order to pursue further personal development. Although a new HR manager had been found, a three-month period had to be bridged until his start date.

Following the bridging of the vacancy, the interim manager was to take over the training, ensuring a seamless handover of tasks.

The challenge of this interim mandate was to identify all tasks arising within a very short handover period by the outgoing HR manager and then to implement them within a very limited timeframe of three days per week.

The key tasks included ensuring the smooth processing of monthly payroll, handling annual salary reviews, and distributing annual bonuses. Additionally, the responsibilities included maintaining accurate monthly reporting to the parent company, managing two employees, and filling vacant (management) positions.

The interim manager used the very short handover period from the outgoing HR manager to systematically record and document all tasks that arose. She became familiar with the management team and the company by participating in management meetings and holding individual discussions with executives.

Result/Project Completion:

  1. The smooth processing of monthly payroll was ensured.
  2. The annual salary review was calculated and implemented.
  3. The annual bonus payments for team leaders and managers have been calculated and implemented.
  4. The monthly reporting of HR key figures to the group company continued seamlessly.
  5. After a 3-month vacancy bridging period, the new HR manager was successfully trained.
